The rating system: (How much I would have paid after reading the book)/(cover price) CLOAK & DAGGER #7 .50/.75 Bill Mantlo is setting up a story filled with a lot of action and yet also considering the feelings of the two main characters. I liked seeing how Cloak is very jealous of Dagger when it comes to other males. I guess the thing that buggs me the most about Mantlo is that he gives his stories the feeling of an opera. WEB OF SPIER-MAN #16 .60/.75 Very interesting. Dave Michline(sp) has a very good handle on Spider-Man's character. His writing is quite humorous yet very sensitive when it needs to be. Peter's first assignment for NOW Magazine is leads him to a small town seemingly under control of one man or a group of men. However, he makes the mistake of changing to Spider-Man and the female reporter with him begins to wonder. There is a classic cliff hanger ending reminiscent of the old Spider-Man stories. WEST COAST AVENGERS #10 .65/.75 I like Steve Engleharts writing so there are not many negative thing to say about this issue or the series in general. The sudden change of the Thing from last issue to this one left me wondering what is going on. I also hope the Tigra subplot gets resolved soon. It was interesting finding out that since Gyrich is not the government liason anylonger, the Avengers are not bound to keep the 6 member clause in the bylaws. SQUADRON SUPREME #11 .30/.75 Boo. Hiss. Blech. The series started interesting then went down- hill fast. I started reading this issue again thinking it would get better at the end. It hasn't. TILL NEXT TIME Steve He talks to himself because only he knows what he is talking about.
