Time for culture shock - Being a Brooklynite (where a garden is roughly 10ft x 10 ft) I have just bought a home in Bridgewater, NJ with about an acre of land. Its mostly flat and grass covered. Question 1: Should I be thinking about a riding mower? I have no desire to spend many hours every Saturday morning pushing a mower. Question 2: I am interested in landscaping a good portion of the land. It is split 1/3 in front of home, 2/3 behind. Nice tall trees around perimeter. I would welcome any sugestions, pointers to books, other examples of landscaped homes, etc. Thanks, mail to me, unless you think there might be enough interest to spark some interactions.
