I've got a small apple tree in the back yard that my wife is ready to cut down because of the bees it attracts. We can put up with the bees for the relatively short pollination period required to get the apples going, but is there something I can do to it or spray on it - once the blossoms are gone and the apples have started - to reduce the attraction to the bees. The kids become afraid to go out in the yard - a problem exaggerated by the fear instilled by my wife - and I'd like to alleviate the problem without converting the tree to firewood. keith ericson at teklabs
