In response to the person (barbaral?) desiring info on composting: the Organic Gardening Encyclopedia (Rodale Press) is an *outrageous*, inexpensive (can be bought used at all three of Boulder's used bookstores), and very complete gardening book. It has a very lonnnnnngggg chapter on composting, too!
