Chemlawn tells me it's best for my lawn if I mulch (e.g. leave the grass clippings on the grass instead of raking or bagging them) all year round. My neighbor's father, who considers himself a lawn expert, says it's bad to mulch during the summer, because it turns the grass brown, and it doesn't get all the sunlight and water it needs during the harsh months. (Contrary to the usual Ohio mentality, we water our lawn when we go for a week without rain.) Is there any expertise out there that can set a majority opinion? Now I don't know what to do.
