What you have are moles. I live in Downers Grove, Il. and have the same
problem. My solution was to call the `MOLE CONTROL PATROL`. For me that
was an extermination outfit called Midwest exterminating. For $80 they
put pellets all around the foundation of my house. I didnt look into doing
the job myself because for one reason I had just had the lawn put in last
september (new house) for the sum of $1100 and I didnt want to take any
chances with it. Also I was told that if you dont eliminate them before
the spring when they breed, you almost will never be rid of them.
One more thing, if you do decide to get an exterminator, shop around. My
neighbor had the same treatment, and it cost him $100.
