It rained in San Jose yesterday for the first time since before Christmas. The snails really came out in force. I went outside with a flashlight (after dark) and hand-picked about 150 nice big healthy snails. They aren't so healthy anymore. Tom Crawford ...amd70!tc

Don't Nuke them, eat them, you can have a very good meal with 150 snails!! When I was a kid, I asked my french relatives a few times why people didn't eat slugs since they ate snails. It seems like there would be much more meat in slugs. All I got out of them is "UGHHH that's disgusting!!" Seems like it's all cultural. Anyway if you ever want to eat the slugs or snails that you catch, you should to put them in a cage and feed them flour for two weeks to make sure all the poisonous plants they've eaten gets out of their systems. Then you drop them in boiling water to kill them and then you can serve them with garlic and parsley fried in butter. mmmmmm mmmm!!!

We don't seem to have too many snails here in Santa Clara. Too bad, cuz salt is so much fun... -- Phil Ngai (408) 988-7777 {ucbvax,decwrl,ihnp4,allegra,intelca}!amd70!phil
