With the drought in the East, I've been thinking about drilling a well to obtain garden water. I've gotten literature from DeepRock, who for a meer $700 will send you a kit to drill a 2 inch hole. Has anyone done this - how difficult is the equipment to use, and what are the chances of success??? (I know there's water around - a railroad culvert runs behind my house, and there's always as stream that flows; but unfortunately, it's on the other side of the tracks, or I'd try pumping it directly.). Can one rent equipment like this from the local rental companies. Any other suggestions (professional services would probably cost much more, so I'm not inclined to try that route ).
