Someone asked if Rodale Press publishes books on organic insect control. Well, pratically anything they publish contains something about organic insect control, but they also have an entire book devoted to the topic. It is, "The Encyclopedia of Natural Insect and Disease Control", Roger B. Yepser, Jr., editor, 1984, Rodale Press. Jeff Simon mhuxd!jjs

[] On a related note, this month's New Age Journal has a brief blurb on p. 13 about the use of caffeine as both an insect repellant and as an insecticide. It's been found to be effective on tobacco hornworms, mealworms, mosquito larvae, and so on. Apparently caffeine disrupts the little critters' nervous systems (no surprise there). Expensive, though, since if it's to be effective, the coffee needs to be 5 to 10 times stronger than normal. -- Melinda Shore ..!ihnp4!gargoyle!sphinx!shor University of Chicago Computation Center Staff.Melinda%chip@UChicago.Bitnet
