Has anybody used Ivory ( 7 tablespoons to a gallon) for controlling aphihs and mites. One recommendation was only to use 1 tablespoon per gallon. I have been using Safers Insecticide Soap however that cost several times more than what Ivory Liquid costs. That calls for 6 tablespoons per gallon. Irv McNair

It worked, but the already wilted foliage died back completely. Fortunately, the roots sent up new growth so the plant (lupine) is doing very well. No trouble experienced with the wild rose I sprayed, but dehydration can be a real problem with soap sprays. That's how they kill little thin-shelled insects, and the same mechanics work on the leaves of plants. Thinner, tenderer plants will suffer more. Suggest you trim back the more infested parts first & destroy them. nemo -- Internet: nemo@rochester.arpa UUCP: {decvax, allegra, seismo, cmcl2}!rochester!nemo Phone: [USA] (716) 275-5766 work, 232-4690 home USMail: 104 Tremont Circle; Rochester, NY 14608 School: Department of Computer Science; University of Rochester; Rochester, NY 14627
