[net.garden] Plant Towers/Trickle Irrigation, request for review

warren@pluto.UUCP (Warren Burstein) (01/19/86)

I just got the Stokes catalog, in the accessories section (p143A) is a
thing called a "plant tower". It looks like an upright triagular
prism with holes in the sides. The tower is filled with a "light
porous soil mixture" and plants are inserted in the holes. It is 2
feet high, costs $18.35.

On p151A is a "trickle irrigation kit", 100 feet of porous plastic
tubing and various couplings. The tubing gets run around the plants
to apply water slowly. $14.95.

Has anyone used these things? What can you grow in the tower?
