[net.bicycle] Sew-ups, clinchers, winter, lights

Firstly sew-ups vs clinchers:
	I race, commute to work, and occasionally tour.
	Sew-ups are indeed the best for speed and ease.
	The modern clinchers certainly beat the old ones
	and are preferable for touring and commuting.
	I use 27 x 1 Specialized clinchers vs Continental
	240-g sew-ups. The price of the latter rules them
	out for rough use ($40 apiece).
Winter, nonbike training.
	If you want to keep in shape for skiing or want
	to avoid running, try roller skiing. It is good
	here in New Jersey to get in shape for XC skiing
	before the snow.  I got mine in Vermont;
	they are sold by Reliable Racing Supply, too.
Good lights.
	Ed Kearney in Virginia sells lights with which
	you can actually see. Many of us at BTL Holmdel
	use them. I use a 35-watt lite on one bike.
