The final results of the Race Across America are as follows. The winner once again this year was Lon Haldeman with a time 10 days 16 hours and 29 minutes. Pete Penseyres came in second at 10 days 22 hours and 2 minutes. In third place with a time of 11 days 6 hours and 30 minutes was Michael Secrest. Bob Beeson finished fourth in 11 days 12 hours 48 minutes. The fifth place finisher was John Silker with a time of 11 days 18 hours 25 minutes. Rounding out the field of finishers was Gary De??? at 12 days 7 hours and 47 minutes. So out of 14 who started the race only six made it to the finish line in Atlantic City. Appearently Michael Shermer dropped out due to medical reasons. No further info was given. Does anyone know if there were cash prizes awarded this year???????? John M.
