I've been having problems with the rear axle in my classic pile-of-junk bicycle. After lurching through potholes for years, my rear axle bent. So I pulled it out, and bought myself a shiny, new rear axle. Within a week, it was showing signs of warpedness, and now that a month has elapsed, the dang thing is a crooked as the original. All without subjecting the bike to any special abuse. Could there be something wrong with the bike that is causing this, or was I sold a piece-of-junk axle the second time? So far the only advice I've received is to get a new bike (well I know, but I love it). Jan Wolter University of Michigan uofm-cv!janc
