[net.bicycle] ? A place to send away for parts, etc. ?

morello@cyclps.DEC (04/30/84)

Does anyone out there know of a good place to send away for
parts, accessories for bicycles? Either that, or a good place to go to
in the Eastern Mass. area.

I've heard of a place which has an 800 number in New Jersey which
is very reasonable.

Could you please post both the mailing address, and the number(s).

						Thank You.

Buy a copy of the current issue of "Bicycling" magazine; all
of the big catalog places have advertisements in it. I usually
	order from

Bike Nashbar (usually has the best
		215 Main St. prices)
		New Middletown, Ohio 44442
		216-542-3671
		800-345-BIKE

Lickton's Cycle City (has almost everything,
310 Lake Street only takes phone orders)
		Oak Park, Illinois 60302
		800-323-4083
		312-383-2130

There are many others. It is also a good idea to find a good
bike shop in your area. The prices are usually higher, but the
advantage is that you get to see what you are buying and you
	get it immediately.

If you want to mail out for parts, here's the thing to do:

(1) Pick up the latest edition of Bicycling magazine.

(2) Find Bike Nashbar's ad. This will have their toll free number listed.
	Ask them for a catalog.

(3) Now, once you have one of their catalogs, you can go thru it and find
	what you want.

>>> (4) If you can find a better price listed in any ad of the current
Bicycling, Bike Nashbar will charge you 5 cents less if you tell
	them about it.

Of course, Bike Nashbar doesn't carry everything, but we've been very
pleased so far. This month they have a sale on inner tubes; depending on
size and valve, they run about $1.80 each.

Other good mail order companies are Lickton's Cycle City and Pedal Pushers.
