I second the comments about Kirtland bags in general, with one BIG exception; their handlebar bag suspension system, which does NOT need tensioning straps to the front fork eyelets, is worth every extra dollar - and it really isn't that much extra. The convenience of simply popping the bag off its holder and taking it with you when you leave the bike is lovely. Other than that, I concur - Kirtland bags are obscenely expensive for frankly not significantly better quality, and their new Lever-lock mounting system looks like an answer in search of a problem. Time was, oh say 3-4 years ago, where there was a dramatic difference between Kirtland and almost any other bag on the market. Now many bags are just as good and much cheaper. I have a pair of Lone Peak P-99s. Their sewing quality and feature complement is essentially the same as (perhaps better than) the Kirtlands for less than 2/3 the price.
