++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Around here a number of the biking crowd (including myself) use Mr. Tuffy tire inserts. They definitely help, we still get some flats, but not as many (it takes a lot to stop that 1 inch roofing nail, for example--it still makes it through a Mister Tuffy). I've been using them with 1 inch clinchers and regular tubes--with less flats than I used to get with 1 1/4 inch michelins with puncture proof tubes. The only bad press I've seen has been in the English CTC magazine in which some members have complained that Mr. Tuffys had "cut" their tires--all the way around tangentially on both sides. However, the European Mr. Tuffys are apparently made their (must be STIFF!) and I have seen no problems among any local users. If your local bike shop doesn't have any in stock--Bike Nashbar is carrying them now. Bill Thompson -- William C.
