A while back I flamed about how disappointing the Cannondale was,
mostly because of shifting problems. I wondered if it was just bike
store mechanic incompetence.
Went to a different bike store recently and they told me that
Cannondale recognized exactly the problems I mentioned and is changing
the rear derailleur (Superbe to Huret Duopar), crank (SR to Sugino
AT), and gearing (6 cogs to 5). Unfortunately, all bikes are shipped
the old way and you have to receive shipment on the bike and then
ask for replacement parts. This is due to their having a large stock
of the old parts (and wanting to get rid of them) and their blanket
guarantee which says they'll replace any parts on the bike you don't
like or return it for your money back (their is no time limit!!).
