SUFFOLK BICYCLE RIDERS ASSOCIATION BIKE-BOAT-BIKE RIDE INFORMATION George Philipp - Ride Chairman 50 Lake Grove Blvd. Centereach, N.Y. 11720 (516) 585-0792 The Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association cordailly invites you to our third annual "Bike-Boat-Bike" ride. This ride will take place in rural Suffolk County, Long Island on Saturday, June 9, 1984 with Sunday, June 10 as a rain date. Suffolk County offers many scenic areas worth photographing, as well as places which have a historic past, such as the former whaling ports of Greenport and Sag Harbor, the lighthouse at Montauk and windmills, which are relics of our colonial past. The starting point will be Country Time Bicycle, Main Road, Mattituck, N. Y. Take Long Island Expressway to Riverhead (very last) exit. Follow route 58 to Mattituck (about 12 miles). Country Time Bicycle is on the south side of main road in the middle of Mattituck. Rides will be: 1. Double Metric Century ( 125 miles) 7:00 a.m. 2. Century ( 100 miles) 8:00 a.m. 3. Metric Century ( 65 miles) 9:00 a.m. 4. Easy ride For beginners 9:00 a.m. All rides will start from Mattituck, east along the rural, scenic North Fork to Greenport. From Greenport, a ten minute ferry ride takes us to beautiful Shelter Island. A five mile ride to South Ferry, and a short boat ride to Sag Harbor. From this point each ride follows a different route through Long Island's historic South Fork, on to Riverhead and back to Mattituck. Our members will provide transportation from the Bridgeport or New London ferries (advance notice required). The ride offers flat terrain, snacks, map, road markings, sag wagon service and a custom patch. Mail this entry form and a check or money order for $4 to the Ride Chairman by May 20. A fee of $5 will be charged thereafter. This fee does not include cost of ferry ($2). We look forward to seeing you June 9.
