convex!hosking says there is a very simple device for picking circular key
locks and suggests that combination locks might be more secure.
foros1!jr says Consumers Report (7/80) liked the Kryptonite but came up with
their own match of a lock and chain from 2 different manufacturers.
hocda!grt leaves a 10-pound chain connected to the bike rack where he parks
	his bike every day.
houxz!llf says remembering a combination is more of a nuisance than carrying
a key around - what did you say my telephone number was?
hplabsb!fujinaka owns both Citadel and Kryptonite locks. Says Citadel is more
secure but Kryptonite is easier to carry. He uses the Kryptonite.
ihdba!jdu owns a cable and Master lock but plans on switching to a Kryptonite
	K4.
nbs-amrf!brown reports watching a bike store emplyee cut through a U-lock in
	2 minutes using a diamond-tipped pipe cutter.
tektronix!richl uses a 1/4" cable and Master padlock. Says a key is no big
deal since you have to carry a house key anyway. Says its easy to
	pick multidial locks.
umcp-cs!fred uses a Kryptonite K4 and a 1/2" cable for reach. Estimates that
	this combination weighs 5 lbs.

In summary:
3 people for U-locks (esp. the Krytonite K4)
1 person for U-lock and cable
1 person for padlock and cable
1 person for incredibly heavy chain
4 people who said that U-locks limit what you can lock your bike up to
2 people who say U-locks are not that secure
1 person who says multidial locks are not secure
1 person who says combinations are a nuisance
1 person who says keys are a nuisance
1 person who says keys are not a nuisance

Well, its obvious that there is no consensus whatsoever. Or rather that
people feel there are drawbacks to every type of lock. So what I buy
depends on what drawback I dislike the least.
