News Flash Alexi Grewal suppended! Bad news for the US olympic cycling team - Alexi Grewal has been suppended for 30 days (which runs through the Olymipics). Seems that he was taking a "chinese herb" that contained a drug (I heard narcotic) on the banned list. He said he had no idea about the drug. By the way, this drug supposedly is contained in several over the counter cough remedies. Hot topic for discussion: Do you think the current drug rules are too tough? My opinion is that they are. Steriods, amphedimenes, etc should be banned because, for the most part, their only use for athletes is to improve performence. But when over the counter drugs (especially ones that at best offer dubious "help") and things like caffine (too much of which is supposed to harm performence) are banned, athletes can no longer live "normal" lives. Every thing they eat, breath, etc must be run through the lab to make sure it doesn't contain banned substances, especially when tests can now detect drugs months after engestion. And I thought amateurs were more or less regular people. Craig Durland ...!hp-pcd!craig
