This article is an update to the experience I described on the net in late July when I was ticketed for "not riding far enough right in the roadway". Well, I went to court today only to find that if I pleaded not guilty(which I did), that the court would set a trial date when it would hear my case. No problem, I don't really mind wasting 4 hrs of my time(and salary) just to get a court date so I can go and waste another 4 or so hours to prove a point and claim my rights as a cyclist. Seems like the city of Boulder is catching on. With all these hassles, the bottom line would be to just pay the ticket and walk away shaking my head but, my skull is too thick for rational behavior. Oh, by the way, the city attorney will not discuss the case with me and try to save everybody some hassle by possibly dismissing the case, seems right in line. Anyway, for those of you who have yet to plan a vacation the big date is September 24, 1984 at 9:00am at the Boulder Municipal Court, 6th and Canyon. Bruce Hildenbrand p.s.- as usual, all heplful hints are appreciated.
