Sun Tour and Shimano dereilleur adjustments are basically similar. If your 12-speed is new, I'd bet your cables are stretched, and may need to be tightened to go across all cogs and chainwheels. Push the shift levers to their farthest forward positions, loosen the cable clamps on the dereilleurs, pull the cables tight and retighten the clamps. One exception: Sun Tour Compe-V front dereilleur NEEDS a little slack in the cable. All Sun Tour rear dereilleurs have three adjustment screws. If your chain won't go on the biggest rear cog, loosen the "L" screw until it does. If the chain won't drop down to the smallest cog, loosen the "H" screw till it does. If the chain over-rides either the largest or smallest cogs, tighten the appropriate screw until the over-riding stops. The third screw adjusts the position of the dereilleur body (not the pulleys) relative to the chainstay. Adjust this screw so that the dereilleur body is PARALLEL to the chainstay in any gear. Sun Tour dereilleurs are generally first-rate. ---Bill Weiss, AT&T Network Systems, Short Hills x4265
