Great ways to increase resistance on rollers : 1. Use high gears ! (this is the easiest way) 2. Let air out of your tires. There are no bumps on rollers, so this shouldn't damage the wheels. Espacially good on plastic rollers. 3. Make fan blades by lacing duct tape through the spokes 4. Throw some old rags or towels under a roller to provide friction. Bart Thielges ...uiucdcs!thielges

I was woundering what sorts of experiences people have had with rollers. Currently, I just allow my bicycle to gather dust in the corner, while I keep in shape by jogging around an indoor track. I would prefer to stay at home and daydream while sitting on my favorite vehicle. Also--I have heard of people attaching a car alternator to their clunker frame, the alternator to a car battery, and the battery to their television. Has anybody had any experiences with such a setup?
