I need some help from someone a) interested in bicycling, b) is knowledgeable in computers and recorders, and c) can build/modify electronic gadgets. I am building a racing HPV. During development, I would love to be able to record time-speed histories (ie. what is the best strategy for max speed in the 200m, unlimited run-up trial - how far from the start of the time trap should the rider start exerting max effort, what speed should they be at at that time, etc) during both vehicle development and rider familiarization. I evision a mini-cassette recorder taking a pulse signal from a common bike computer. If the recording is played back into a personal computer with some custom software, a time vs. speed plot could be output. Or something of this sort. Is there anyone out there (preferably in New England to keep phone expenses down and allow some direct participation) that would be interesting in developing something of this sort. I'm flat out $$wise getting the vehicle built so I can't fund labor but I will cover out-of-pocket expenses. N. Chris Paulhus DEC-Maynard (617) 493-6871 decwrl!dec-10382!dec-euclid!paulhus
