I am thinking seriously of purchasing a recumbant bicycle (one of those on which you sit back instead of foreward as on a normal diamond frame bicycle). While I am an acive cyclist on a diamon frame for the past several years, I am interested in the recumbants because I have been told that they offer considerable less wind resistance and that they are easier to peddle. I have been told, hovever that they are also more difficult on steep hills (lots of them here in Seattle) and that they are harder to see in traffic. I would like any comment from anyone, pro AND con about recumbants in order to hemp me make the decision. In addition, I would like suggestions as to who makes them and sells them particullary in the Seattle, Washington area. I checked out a couple of bicycle shops in Seattle and I did not see them. If I do make the decision to go ahead, I would be willing to consider anything up to the naighborhood of $2500.00 for this. I would like to know if this is reasonable or am I way off?? I would greatly appreciate any help. If you are in the local area, feel free to call me. Mark A. Allyn Boeing Aerospace uw-beaver!ssc-vax!ssc-bee!maa 206-773-3437 (work) 206-322-4051 (home)
