[net.bicycle] Question about Avocet Touring seats.

az@ada-uts.UUCP (06/04/85)

   Does anybody know what is the difference between Avoset
Touring seats I,II and III besides the price?

The difference between II and III is the rails. Touring III uses
alloy rails which are lighter than the rails in II but are
not as strong. Touring I differs from II and III with a
more flexible shell.

Supposedly, the Avocet I is cushier and for "weekend cyclists";
the II is firmer; and the III is a II with aluminum alloy rails,
which are very light but eventually break. In recent years
Avocet has come out with a lot of new models (and a fair amount
of hype), so the old definitions may not still be valid.
