If your looking for a fluid replacement/energy drink for long/hard bike rides, check out Body Fuel. According to the label, it has been "specially formulated" for endurance events - bikeing, triathlons, etc and tested in several bike tri's. Has a big list of interesting ingredients. It comes as a powder thats added to water. Tastes kinda like Tang. $10 per can (comes out about the same as a coke per water bottle). Personal experience: we have been using the stuff for races (30-100+ miles) and hard training rides. Very possitive reactions so far. Does not give the sugar "rush" but provides long term energy. Several have used body fuel only (no food/water) in 90+mile, 80+ degree bike races with out bonking or running out of gas (I personally like to eat something). The suggestions for use are interesting: no food (especially protein) 4 hours before event. I have tried this (eating very little several hours before the event then starting to munch once things get started and have had much fewer cramps, side stiches, etc). Worth trying even if you don't use body fuel. Craig Durland
