From: hamachi (Gordon Hamachi) Here's the report on a special screening of the new Warner Brothers movie "American Flyers" due to be released in September. In a nutshell, the movie was outstanding, and I can't wait until September when I will take friends and see it again. Hold on, this is not just another pretty bike race. Although the racing scenes from the "Hell of the West" (AKA Coors Classic) bicycle race are spectacular, "American Flyers" centers on the the conflicts between two brothers (Kevin Costner and David Grant) and their mother (Janice Rule) following their father's death. Like writer Steve Tesich's earlier "Breaking Away", this movie is carried off with spirit, style, and charm. James Terry and Jessica Nelson are outrageously funny as hitchhikers. Eddie Merckx makes a cameo appearance as himself, and Luca Bercovici does an excellent job of playing the brooding, menacing rival bike racer. Steve Tesich received a well-deserved standing ovation following the movie. --Gordon
