[net.bicycle] locks

As far as the Kyrptonite vs. Citadel controversy goes I think that
the Krypto is the better choice.

First I know two people who had their bikes stolen in NYC while they
were locked with Citadels. There was a rumor going around that there
was a master key available. I had a friend of mine who was a very
good locksmith (trained by the U.S. Army) open my Krypto once. It
took him 20 minutes of intense concentration and a hard to obtain
$250.00 tool. Somehow people were getting Citadels open a lot
faster without attracting attention, as one friends bike was stolen
while she was in a deli for less than 10 minutes.

Second the Krypto is ergonomically superior. This means you are
more likely to use it. Citadels can be a pain as the U must meet
the straight bar at the right point or the lock will not engage and
	there is no positive stop.

Third, the krypto is available in more sizes. I have the "Baby"
these days which is smaller than normal, just large enough to get a
parking meter and frame tube through. I have a Stumpjumper which has
these little fittings on the wheeles that require alan wrenches to
remove, so I don't need to lock the wheels. They also make some
real large ones for Motorcycles that you hardly ever see in Bicycle
shops or catalogs. I got my Baby at the Bicycle Exchange in Cambridge.
