Jim "Bigfoot" Chapman and other folks with 14+ waffle stompers: Some months ago I went out with the same request and some kind folks on the net directed me to Bike Nashbar's catalog and 2 brands of shoes specifically: SIDI Cycle Titanium shoes, sizes 39-50: $68.00 a pair DUEGI Mod 101 shoes, sizes 36-48: 44.50 a pair I tried the Duegi's first. They tend to run large so the 48 fit my U.S. size 14 perfectly. The shoes use a wooden inner sole that I found a bit uncomfortable. I returned them to Nashbar and got the Sidi's. The 49 fits perfectly, is very comfortable, and I like their cleat a little better than Duegi's. They're a little more expensive, but such is the way of the world. For years, I wore a pair of size 48 Detto Pietro shoes that were just a tad bit too small, but that finally stretched out enough (after about 3000 miles--aaargggh!) to be comfortable. Howver, those appear not to be available anymore (hence my search for shoes). Quick note regarding Bike Nashbar: This was the first time I did business with them and I was delighted. Decent prices, very fast and good service, and no hassles on exchanges! I've since bought lots of other goodies from them. If you don't have their latest catalog, call 1-800-345-BIKE. Hope this helps. --Jeff "Bigfoot" Shore (..!ihnp4!druhi!jhs)

I also have a size 14 foot, and I find that the Bata Bikers size 13 fits pretty well. They run quite large. Note that this is the only bata shoe that is like this: I once ordered a Bata Tourlite 13 and it was way too small! If you want a cleated shoe, try Duegi - they make 'em up to European size 50, which is REALLY big! 48 or 49 should be big enough for you. (They're too wide for me, otherwise I'd own a pair.)
