[net.bicycle] Custom Frames...

mancello@acf4.UUCP (Homeboy#1) (10/24/85)

Can anyone recommend any good frame builders on the East Coast. Eventually,
I would like to purchase a custom-made frame for myself. I currently have
a 63 cm. (center-center) road bike, but I find it is too small. Most pro-
duction frames come no larger than this, with just a few builders producing
65 cm. frames. I feel that a 66 or 67 cm. frame would be about right for
me with a correspondingly long top tube. I am interested in racing frames
or sport-racers.

might I suggest Franklin Frames... Very High Quality custom bikes. (His
tandem frames were reviewed quite favoribly in a biking publication). He
has quite a few frame types to chose from (road, tour, crit, trak) at
several levels of "quality" (from painted lugs to gold-plated lugs, tips,
etc.) To get in touch...

I am just curious; how tall are you?

Most racers try to ride the smallest frame they possibly can; smaller frames
are stiffer and lighter. If you really need a 65cm, good luck.
