Anyone have any experience with roads and campsites in the Northern half of the Everglades? I'm going down between Xmas and New Years; will be visiting relatives in the Miami area for a few days, then will cycle across the Florida penninsula to Venice to visit a friend. My road atlas shows some small "blue highways," #846, #832, #78, which go through or near towns like Immokalee, Sears and Devil's Garden FL, but roads seem pretty sparse in that area. (I know I need a better map.) Does anyone know the area? Are these roads good for cycling? How about smaller ones? Are any of them sand? Are there campgrounds in the area?
