Could any one who has tried the new Look pedal/system please post a review? I would especially like to know: Are special shoes required? Are they easy to get in/out of? Is the shoe to pedal bond as tight as cleats? Are there any disadvantages? How are the "modified" shoes to walk in? (compared to cleats) Thanks in advance, Bruce.

This is not a Look review, but in case you or other net.readers are not aware, there are other "binding" type pedals and pedal-shoe systems emerging which correct some of the things that the original Look pedals have been faulted for. For example, Look is coming out with a new ultra-light pedal (the originals are pretty heavy, although this model will be expensive), and Adidas has a shoe-pedal "system" with adjustable cleats (the current Looks have the disadvantage of being non-adjustable once the cleat has been positioned, and the cleat must be mounted by drilling holes into your shoes). There are also some less expensive but similar binding type pedals in the works. The most recent Velo-News has an article covering these subjects. Anyway, it looks like the best thing to do is wait until you see some of these new products emerge in 1986. -Leslie Winters
