I'm planning on a trip from the Miami to the Sarasota area between Xmas and New Years. On my roadmap are some small numbered roads which go across the Everglades, through tiny (?) towns with names like Sears, FL. I wonder if anyone out there knows the area? Specifically, are any of these roads sand? Are there campgrounds? (I'll be carrying 30-40lb -- tent, sleeping bag, cook-stove, etc.) I'm trying to stay off Alligator Alley, the main auto route. Oh yes -- do I have to worry about alligators? *** One more thing: we've just brought up ULTRIX, and are not sure outgoing news is really going out. Could someone send me net mail if you get this?
