I use paraffin (US) on most of my bikes. For the 'tank', which gets a lot of crud in snow and rain, I use kerosene saturated with paraffin. It only lasts a few days, or even only one day in the summer. Paraffin is good on a mountain bike. Because the chain is dry, it does not pick up much sand, of which we have plenty in Monmouth County. > kerosene followed by lubricating with "Bull Shot." I won a can of Bull Shot in a bike race.
