I noticed the dog corollary too: dogs attack only when you're riding
uphill or into the wind. The size of the dog is directly proportional
to the grade of the hill or the wind speed.


You should also add that the probability of a dog running directly in
front of the bike is directly proportional to your velocity at the time 
of the attack.
