Speaking of new components and inventions, did anyone see the Modolo Kronotech picture in _Bicycle Guide_ this month? Now THERES technology. It is aerodynamically designed (puts a Cinelli Laser to shame) and it might go into production. So you have a choice between a Porsche and this when you get your next paycheck. HOWEVER... how much difference does aero styling do on a bike frame. In race conditions, there is a large cross section on the top called a rider. Bike designs such as Moser's seem to emphasize not only aero but mainly positioning and ergonomics of riding time trials. This seems to be there importance. However, any less drag is probably worth it. Lots of people race (seriously) with the disk wheels, and I guess that something like 13 out of 14 top finishers in th Giro used them. /Charlie Crabb crabb%katie.dec@decwrl.arpa
