Microcomputer Operating Systems Support, Porting, and Enhancement Human Computing Resources Corporation is a leader in the area of advanced virtual memory UNIX systems for 32-bit microcomputers. Our UNITY product was the first microcomputer UNIX system with full virtual memory to achieve public demonstration. Our expanding systems business requires additional staff in order to serve the needs of our OEM customers. Two positions are now open: Member of Technical Staff We require a strong technical specialist to work with our UNITY line of UNIX operating systems for the National Series 32000 virtual memory microprocessors. Job duties will include: o Device driver writing and kernel modifications for new machines o Resolution of OEM and end-user customer problems o Product enhancements at the system and utility level This job presents a real challenge. A candidate must have: o The ability to deal decisively with a large variety of technical problems in the areas of systems software, compilers, utility programs, and hardware. o The ability to deal constructively with time constraints, the pressure of customer requests, and with the ambiguity associated with prototype hardware systems. o A degree in computer science or equivalent background and experience. o Several years of work experience. o Knowledge of UNIX system internals (System V and/or 4.1BSD preferable). o Experience with computer systems at the peripheral device level. Group Leader Our expanded level of activity now requires a more senior person to coordinate the above porting activities and customer problem resolution, as well as to participate directly in the technical work. In addition to the same strong technical background, the successful candidate must be well organized and must have a superior ability to deal with people.
