Develcon Electronics Ltd. has positions open for:
- Communications Systems Architect
- Senior Software Engineers
Develcon specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of data
communications networking equipment.
R&D software development is done primarily in C on a network of VAXes(*)
and Zilog System 8000 supermicros, all running UNIX(**),
with additional satellite processors for special target architectures.
The responsibilities of the Communications Systems Architect include
the design of various communications systems integrated within DevelNet,
Develcon's sophisticated distributed data network. These systems include
X.25, IEEE 802 standards, SNA protocols and T1 interfaces.
As a member of a project team, the Senior Software Engineer will focus
on the implementation of various communications products. Key elements
involve multiprocessor communications and distributed databases.
Typical development activities would be in implementing custom
subscriber interfacing, protocol conversion, or flow-control mechanisms.
Qualifications are:
+ Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree.
+ Several years of solid development experience.
The following would be assets:
+ Structured software design experience.
+ Knowledge of project control techniques.
+ Real-time systems programming experience.
