    The Company
    
    Optical Recording Corporation is  a  Canadian  research  and
    development  company  developing commercial products for the
    optical data storage market.
    
    The Position
    
    The Document Storage Systems (DSS) division has an immediate
    opening for a Programmer/Analyst with a strong background in
    C software development,  MS-DOS  environments  and  database
    management systems.
    
    Reporting to the Project Leader - Software Development,  the
    successful  candidate  will  be a key member of the DSS team
    primarily responsible for the analysis, design and implemen-
    tation  of the document index and cross-reference components
    of the DSS family  of  products.   A  high  level  of  self-
    motivation is expected.
    
    Basic Qualifications
    
    Prospective candidates will  possess  the  following  prere-
    quisite qualifications:
    
         1.   Strong MS-DOS background developing application in
              C (preferably Microsoft C)
    
         2.   Experience with conventional or full text database
              management  systems; particularly those which sup-
              port a C programming language interface (e.g. ZIM)
    
         3.   Familiarity with the IBM PC hardware architecture
    
         4.   Excellent oral and written communication skills
    
    Relevant Fields of Experience
    
    Additional consideration will be given to those  individuals
    with experience in any of the following areas:
    
         1.   Records Management  System  or  Office  Automation
              product development
    
         2.   Window/User  Interface  Management  Systems  (e.g.
              MS-Windows)
    
         3.   Networks and Distributed Systems
    
         4.   DOS Device Drivers
    
         5.   Unix
