Job Posting Cognos has openings for several seasoned software professionals to join in exciting new software product development. Cognos sells a very successful fourth generation language in the minicomputer market called PowerHouse. The company has over ?? offices worldwide, with more than ?? thousand customers. Cognos is Canadian owned, with headquarters in a new six storey building in Ottawa. We need talented, experienced software professionals who are interested in working in one or more of the following areas: Create 4GL software engines for reports, transactions, databases. Design and implement user interface modules for the software engines. Design and implement an active application dictionary system. Develop tools to create and maintain software libraries. Create software library modules in a new object-oriented language. Design and implement data and application modelling tools We are interested in individuals with talents in software product development, and although there is no required skills and experience levels, the following are desirable: Unix VAX/VMS Smalltalk C 4GL database compiler operating system software product development project management Positions are open immediately, compensation is competitive.
