================================================================= The Information Utility Group at Geac PRESENTS: JOB OPPORTUNITIES! ================================================================= Now that Geac has received additional investment from Helix Investments, we are now able to offer a number of exciting jobs in our Information Utility Development Group. What is the Information Utility Development Group? Well, we are a small group within Geac who are currently developing Library Systems in a UNIX and C environment. What sort of expertise do we need? Basically, we need strong UNIX and C skills. In addition, experience in one or more of the following would be a definite asset: (distributed) relational databases, networking (ethernet and others), windowing and pointer systems, and library applications. What sort of equipment is this on? We are developing this on a VAX 8650, MicroVax IIs and Sun systems. There may be other "standard" UNIX machines in the future. Coding is in C and/or C++. Why should you apply to Geac? We think we have an exciting project to work on. The scope is relatively broad, all indications are that the management of information is an upcoming trend, and we are focusing our efforts to be a leader in the information management field. As is usual in medium size companies, we offer good benefits and have not grown to the point where we are overly constrained by structured management. We are as relaxed and informal a group as we can be. (We saw a tie here once, but we burned it!) How can you find out more? There are three ways to find out more about us. You can email me (david@geac), you can send me your resume (see address below) or you can call me (see .signature). BTW: I am a member of the Information Utility Development Group, in the Operating Systems Group. -david- -- David Haynes [ mnetor, yetti, utgpu] ! geac ! david Geac Computers International Inc.
