Senior Systems Programmer, Communications University of Western Ontario, London, Canada The Department of Computer and Communications Services has created a new position in its Data Communications Group. Applications are invited from candidates with a good general programming background including some experience with data communications and at least 2 years experience in Unix system level programming. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience. He/she must have proven personal and written communication skills and good problem solving capabilities. Projects that the successful candidate may be involved in include electronic mail support, evaluation and possible implementation of a campus computer conferencing system, Unix workstation support functions, and the development of network monitoring and management tools. Support and development of the interface between small systems in LANs, powerful workstations and the large central facilities will form an important part of this position. Data communications will have a major and growing role at Western over the next decade. We require an enthusiastic, capable and adaptable individual who can grow with the campus network.
