Alias Research Inc. produces state-of-the-art image synthesis software
that is renowned for its ease of use. There is now an opening in the
Systems Group for the position of Systems Programmer. This job involves
the following:
o The development of device interface software. Most of the work will
deal with making computer graphics related peripherals work with the
Iris series of superworkstations.
o The development of systems software for inclusion in Alias products.
This job requires the following:
o A minimum of 2-3 years of experience programming in C under UNIX.
o A good understanding of computer/peripheral communications hardware
and software. Experience with UNIX device drivers is important.
o BSc in CS, Math, or equivalent.
o Experience in computer graphics, and an understanding of the architecture
of basic computer graphics equipment.
o Familiarity with computer networks and communications methods (IEEE-802.3,
TCP/IP, RS-232, IEEE-488) are essential.
o Systems programming experience.
o Basic electronics skills are also required for occasional fabrication.
