PC SOFTWARE ENGINEERS

The above organisation is the world wide product centre for stand-alone
workstation development for N.V. Philips of the Netherlands (of Magnavox,
Norelco, Signetics & etc. fame).
In addition to extensive R & D facilities, the organisation includes the
largest manufacturing centre of PC compatible computers in Canada.
The existing product line, fully developed here in Montreal, and currently
sold mainly in Europe, consists of a complete family of IBM compatible PC's
using 8088, 80286 and 80386 technology.
Our development mandate is targeted at enhancing this product line,
supporting the OS/2 operating system on our existing and future systems, and
entering the PS/2 marketplace in an appropriate and timely manner.
The System Software Department has openings for Software Engineers with
experience in PC/AT BIOS and MSDos internals to develop and enhance the
PS/2 and OS/2 capability within the organisation, and to support our
existing PC/AT BIOS and MSDos product lines.
Demonstrable ability and knowledge in the above fields are the only
qualifactions you need to get my attention!

Other major software and hardware development projects are currently in
progress in the fields of office automation, desk top publishing, computer
graphics, CD-ROM systems, high resolution video graphics systems etc.
Internal migration between projects after appropriate timespans is
recognised and encouraged in the organisation.
The development environment includes 3 VAX 11/70's, two of which run
Berkeley 4.1, and as many high performance 286 and 386 personal workstations
as you would ever want to see, running Unix Sys V, MSDos and OS/2.
