The Network Services group within the Computing Centre provides the main
campus data network. This includes a main campus backbone ethernet to which
departmental ethernets are bridged and also consists of a locally developed
network called UBCnet.
 
We are looking for a programmer/analyst to work in this environment. Duties 
would include: development and maintenance of existing UBCnet networking
software; integrating LANs into the existing distributed computing
environment; developing new networking solutions; tracking industry trends
and relevant ISO standards with a view to their implementation at UBC.

If you have two years of experience in software development in the area of
computer networking and data communications, a relevant University degree
and want to work in a challenging but enjoyable university environment
this job maybe for you. People without experience will also be considered.
