                           SYSTEMS SOFTWARE POSITIONS
                          Department of Computer Science
                             University of Calgary

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for the positions of
a SYSTEMS OPERATIONS MANAGER and two SYSTEMS PROGRAMMERs. 
The department's computing facility provides resources and services to support 
research and teaching activities of its faculty, staff and students.
The facility consists of a network of Sun-4s and Sun-3s, Vax-780s, Apollos, 
Silicon Graphics Irises, a 32-node BBN Butterfly-Plus, 
Symbolics, and several workstations and terminals. UNIX is the main
operating system.

The Systems Operations Manager will be responsible for planning activities, and directing 
the systems group in order to provide excellent services.

The Systems Programmer will maintain, design and implement various support software
for the facility.

Applicants for the positions must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with
good academic standing. Sound knowledge of  UNIX and systems programming is 
required. Salaries are competitive.
