Analyst/Project Leader: This person will coordinate production and development in two of our major database product lines. Post-secondary training in Information and Computer Science and strong organizational skills are essential, as is at least two years experience in organization of textual databases and presentation of textual material in print and electronic formats. The Poject Leader has full production, development and staff management responsibility for his/her projects and works in a team with other PLs on system design. Computing environment is Alpha Micro, Cuadra Star text management, C, and business BASIC. Business environment is entrepreneurial. Programmer/Analysts: Several people are required to maintain systems written in business BASIC, rework them into database/text management environments, and manage them once they are fully migrated. Requirements for all positions include one to two years computing experience in business, library, or publishing fields, knowledge of BASIC with COBOL an asset, post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field, and familiarity with relational database management or text management systems. Various positions require experience in one or more of UNIX, C, fourth generation languages, online database production, CD-ROM, data capture, and typesetting.
