Pansophic Systems, Inc. is looking for three people to expand its
present staff in Toronto.  The office is located in North York near
the intersection of highways 401 and 404/Don Valley Parkway.  The
positions are described below.

(although this is a Canadian posting, American applicants will also
be considered, with the option of working in our Shrewsbury, NJ or our
Washington, DC office)

Positions:
----------

1) one Software Specialist I (equivalent to Programmer/Analyst level)
	- develop and support graphics products on micro and supermicro
	  platforms
	- University or Community college education
	- minimum 2 years graphics programming experience.

2) two Senior Software Specialist II's (equivalent to Sr. Systems Analyst)
	- design and develop graphics applications on PC and UNIX platforms
	- provide project leader/management role to development group
	- University Computer or equivalent degree
	- minimum 4 years programming and design experience
	- thorough knowledge of graphics technology in 3-D modelling and
	  rendering applications.

This list of requirements identifies the sort of skills we are looking for.
Items at the front of the list are more important than those at the
end, and compensating skills will, of course, be considered.

- graphics software experience
- solid C programming and debugging skills
- development experience on PC's
- development team experience
- experience with formal and/or informal development methodologies
- UNIX interfacing (at a low-level) skills
- development experience on workstations
- network and communications experience (Ethernet, Novell, ASync)
- windowing software familiarity
- development experience with other computers and operating systems,
  including IBM.

personal note:  I've worked for Pansophic in Toronto for a few years,
and had a pretty good time doing it.  We do high-end business graphics,
and mid-range 3d-modelling and animation, flying logos, image scanning
and processing, even some page layout stuff.  Lots of fun to play with.
The development team is a good bunch of people, in all three offices.
We are not a production house; rather we develop software for production
houses.  Our platforms right now are mostly COMPAQ 386/20's with
TARGA and VISTA boards, all kinds of scanners, film recorders, colour
printers, and other toys.  And we're moving to bigger machines.
